Blog Expectations

As of now, Diarmuid has uploaded many of past assignments and opinion from his studies. The topics range from information technology to economic policy to the ethical challenges of data. 


Education

Diarmuid is a recent Information Systems Graduate from University College Cork, where he received first-class honours. In 2018 he graduated from University College Cork with a bachelors in Economics and German. He also studied for one year at Leibniz University in Hannover Germany. While studying at University College Cork, he held the role as the public relations officer with the Economics Society and finance officer with the photography society. 

 

Technology work

Diarmuid has worked three summers at EMC as the Ireland Centre of Excellence team while studying. From 2018-2019 he was based in Dublin working as an add writer with Cognizant Technologies (Google client) as part of the German team. Most recently he worked as a research/technology consultant with GIS consulting Company Future Analytics Consulting. Here he created a set of KPIs and a framework to help optimize project time management and efficiency. 

 

Photography work

Since 2016, Diarmuid has worked as a professional photographer. His portfolio can be found at FlashFocus.org He has taken photos in over 14 countries across Europe and North America. He has shot many events such as weddings, birthday parties, university balls and much more. His next move is into interior photography.

In 2015, Diarmuid was an early member of the United Stand Youtube Channel. As part of the team, he won the "fans choice of best new football blog from the football blogging awards".
